The Edmonton Clinic Health Academy is one of two facilities that, together, will form the Edmonton Clinic, a partnership between Alberta Health Services, the University of Alberta and the Government of Alberta that is designed to change how we deliver outpatient care, as well as health sciences education and research in the province.

Health care providers, educators, researchers and policy makers in Canada and around the world agree that health care transformation is vital. While other jurisdictions plan for the future, the University of Alberta is already there. The result of an extraordinary vision, the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy will create, nurture and support the academic collisions, interdisciplinary research and team-based education that will enable the health care transformation Canadians want and need.

The second annual Alberta Graduate Conference will be held at the University of Alberta from May 3-5, 2012. This multi-disciplinary event supports graduate students in their efforts to translate their education and research into meaningful career opportunities. By linking graduate students with future employers, investors and university administrators, the AGC accelerates the process of innovation, bridging the gap between academia and industry and providing a forum to exchange experiences and discuss the practical challenges encountered.

  3. Breathing life into health team education

“HELP! Please - I need HELP!” An urgent plea for help sounds from the student commons lobby in the University of Alberta’s Edmonton Clinic Health Academy. Four health science students chatting in a nearby hallway look at one another, drop what they’re doing and run. “I’m so glad you’re here.” A man in a baseball cap paces around a coffee table, wringing his hands, looking anxiously at the ground a few feet away from him.
