Traffic Disruption on 114 Street
View Traffic disruption in a larger map
Major disruptions to 114th Street continue through mid-November
Alberta Health Services is building a utility tunnel connecting the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre/University Hospital to the Edmonton Clinic South. As part of that construction, traffic on 114th Street is reduced to one lane each way for north- and south-bound traffic.
At 114 St. and 83 Avenue: There will be no left turn onto 83 Avenue from either direction to prevent a bottleneck at this intersection. Right turns onto 83 Avenue for north-bound traffic will still be permitted.
This disruption is expected to last until mid-November.
The project has entered its final phase. All pedestrian traffic on 114th Street between 83 Avenue and the University Hospital will be routed to the east side of 114th Street.
Access to the front doors of the Outpatient Residence Building will be maintained, including ramp access. Exiting from the west side of the Walter C. MacKenzie in the vicinity of the construction will be maintained. Fencing and signage will be posted.
